Authorities on Wednesday announced the arrest of 42 people in acrackdown on drug sales near Great Lakes Naval Base, ending a 10-weekundercover investigation.
Dubbed "Operation Wristlock," the investigation involvedWaukegan police and agents of the U.S. Naval Investigative Servicemaking 86 purchases of controlled substances from curbside dealersin Waukegan, North Chicago and Zion.
Undercover investigators purchased drugs while seated on thedriver's side of their vehicles, which were equipped with concealedvideo cameras that recorded transactions.
