Thailand Firm Seals Deal for Coveted Shopping District.

Byline: Sukanya Jitpleecheep

Sep. 5--Central Pattana Plc (CPN) has struck a long-anticipated deal to run the World Trade Centre in Bangkok in a strategic multi-billion-baht move to strengthen the position of Thailand's most sought-after shopping district.

The agreement culminated three years of tough negotiations between CPN, part of the Central group, and Wang Petchaboon Co, operator of the World Trade Centre.

CPN was believed to have made a last-minute decision to conclude the deal with Wang Petchaboon, as it wanted to establish a presence at the Ratchaprasong intersection ahead of the opening of the six-billion-baht Siam Paragon.
