TRIAL IN WASHINGTON PARK TEEN SLAYINGS TO BEGIN.(CAPITAL REGION)

The first in a series of murder trials in the execution-style slaying of two Albany teenagers begins in County Court this morning.

Larry Omar Miller, 18, and his friend Lamel Wells Robinson, 17, were found in Washington Park dead from gunshot wounds to their chests six days before Christmas 1997.

Shamel Curry, 20, faces murder charges for his alleged part in the pre-dawn killings. He was indicted in January on two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree robbery and two counts of attempted second-degree robbery. If convicted, he faces 50 years to life.
