COLONIE OKS BIDS FOR BALLPARK WORK $276G IN BIDS FOR HERITAGE PARK.(Local)

Work will begin soon on a visitors clubhouse and outfield drainage improvements at Heritage Park following Town Board approval Thursday of bids for the work.

The board okayed $276,567 worth of bids to construct a visitors clubhouse and to improve the drainage at Heritage Park.

The Albany-Colonie Yankees threatened to move if the facilities were not improved. The team management has complained about the lack of a visitors dugout and poor drainage in the outfield, which last season prompted several visiting teams to threaten not to play at the field.
